
BOSTON SYMPHONY HALL PUBLIC EXPANSION SPACE

With the aims of protecting and enhancing performance spaces, dignifying public spaces in the existing McKim, Mead, and White building, and innovating in an addition to the adjacent Cohen Wing, EJA’s improvements include: exterior lighting and media panels approved by the Landmarks Commission, audience amenities including food service, replacement of steam plant with renewable-ready modular electric chillers and high-efficiency cooling tower to yield annual operating savings, and coordination of upgrades with envelope consultants, mechanical engineers, sustainability consultant, code consultant, and acoustic/lighting designers.
